God's love is everlasting and endures forever. God's love will heal you. Gods love will secure you. God's love is gentle. God's love is kind. When you make mistakes, God's love will give you the courage to shake it off knowing that you are forgiven by His grace. Knowing that God loves you, will get you through the tough times. Even when it doesn't make sense, His love will ensure you that it will be ok.
When I was little, before bedtime, I remember when my dad would stand over my bed and throw up my blanket over me in preparation to tuck me in. This was always so exciting for me! The cover would then come back down like a feather and cover me. He would tuck me in and give me a kiss.
In this same way, God will cover all your mistakes, forgive you, and kiss you with His love.
God spoke this Word to the people of Jerusalem that rebelled against Him. And yet, even in their sin, God loved on them.
“I took care of you, dressed you and protected you. I promised you my love and entered the covenant of marriage with you. I, God, the Master, gave my word. You became mine. I gave you a good bath, washing off all that old blood, and anointed you with aromatic oils. I dressed you in a colorful gown and put leather sandals on your feet....You were absolutely stunning....You became world-famous, a legendary beauty brought to perfection by my adornments. Decree of God, the Master." Ezekiel 16:8 MSG
This Scripture is a pure reflection of God's love for each and everyone of us.
We can not earn God's love. Only accept it by faith. God loves us too much to let us stay the way we are. God commands us to turn from our wicked ways and repent because He loves us too much to be caught up in sin, which once full grown, leads to death. "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." Romans 6:23 (NIV). When God says no to something in your life, its because He wants you to say yes to something even better. God sent His only begotten Son to DIE for us in the most brutal and bloody way. What greater way to demonstrate love than that?
There is nothing that God doesn't know about you and He still loves you. And that's whats compels people to receive Christ. "Or do you show contempt for the riches of his kindness, forbearance and patience, not realizing that God’s kindness is intended to lead you to repentance? Romans 2:4 (NIV)
Friends, this is not about religion, it's about relationship with your Creator. When I decided to surrender my full life to Christ June 19th, 2011, when I was 20, it was God's love that led me to repentance, not His wrath. He drenched me in His love and there was nothing that I could do about it. Right then and there, I knew out of all the things in this world, His love alone was more than enough for me.
"You have beset me and shut me in- behind and before, and you have laid your hand upon me." Psalm 139:5 (NIV)
Start mediating on the Word of God and study Scriptures about God's love for you. Confess in the mirror that you are loved, sing to yourself in the shower. Watch for signs of God's love in your life. Journal it.
"There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love." 1 John 4:18 (NIV)
My prayer is that God will begin to bathe you in His love and saturate your soul with His peace. I pray that He reveals to you the Light and beauty of His love for you and that upon the revelation of this that your life will be transformed forever.
"Then Christ will make His home in your hearts as you trust in him. Your roots will grow down into God's love and keep you strong." Ephesians 3:17.
